Bob Hughlett Announces Bid for Second Term
for Cerritos College Board of TrusteesAugust, 2009
As you may have heard, I am running for a second term on the Board of Trustees at Cerritos College in the
November 3 election.
After working as a teacher in the Downey Unified School District for three years, I became an instructor
at Cerritos College until my retirement in 2005. During my time at the college I was a faculty member, Director of Disabled
Student Programs and twice Interim Vice President of Student Services. Since 1987, I was elected and re-elected to both the ABC
Unified School District Board of Education and the Cerritos City Council. I served as the President of ABCUSD and was twice
Mayor of Cerritos. In November, 2005, you elected me a Cerritos College Trustee where I now serve as the Vice President of the
Board.
My forty years in education and twenty years in public office have given me the experience, contacts and
ideas to continue to excel as a Trustee. Maintaining and growing excellent programs and services in the face of
enormous fiscal challenges and the advent our new President for Cerritos College, Dr. Linda Lacy, are but two of the reasons calling for
seasoned, receptive and experienced Board members.
Rather than hold expensive kick-off and fund raising activities we have decided to simply send out
mailings which detail my qualifications, history and interests.

Please vote once again for Bob Hughlett on November 3.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Bob Hughlett
