Ballot Statement

I’m Dr. Bob Hughlett and I would appreciate your vote.

After working as a teacher in the Downey Unified School District for three years I moved to Cerritos College in 1973 and stayed there until my retirement in July. During my time at the college I was a faculty member, Director of Disabled Student Programs and twice Interim Vice President of Student Services.

Since 1987 I was elected and re-elected to both the ABC Unified School District Board of Education and the Cerritos City Council. I served as the President of ABCUSD and was twice Mayor of Cerritos.

My thirty-six years in education and sixteen years in public office have given me the experience, contacts and fresh ideas to perform well as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Cerritos College is a jewel that deserves the best in leadership. The maintenance and growth of excellent programs and services in the face of fiscal challenges and the implementation of a bond construction plan are but two of the reasons calling for seasoned, receptive and experienced Board members.
